SALE OF DAIRY CATTLE

At the third dairy cattle sale of tho season, held at the Matawhero yards today, there was an entry of 200 head, but there was only a moderate attendance of the public. The demand was limited, and only for a good stamp of heifer close to profit. A number of these made, from £3 2s 6d to £4 32s 6d, hut the value of backward! heifers ranged about £2 to £2 10s. Cows wore almost unsaleable, although one second calver made £5 15s. Two others made £2 12s 6d and £3 IBs, but little else ranged above £l. Yearling heifers made £1 4s to £1 12s 6rl.
