P.B. ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Poverty Bay Football Asso< nation was held on Monday evening, Mr. J. J. Macdonald presiding. ; Tnere were arso present Messrs. J. McLean, J. Easton, J. MUler, J. Scott, J. Watt, W. H. Simmons, J. Crawford, J. Jennings, and H. Ireland, lion, secretary. Mr. McLean reported having attended to the footballs, as requested, and that some Were now in good condition. Mr. McLean was. accorded a hearty vote of thanks. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided 'to continue the school competition on Saturday next, and that teams be chqeenfor a Possibles v. Probables trial match, to be played the following Saturday, August 19. ; connection with the Auckland schools* visit, the secretary was instructed to write to the Auckland association, 3 explaining the position of the schools' tennis here and that it would «n)y be possible to field a team of boys nnaer 13 years of age on January 1. > In reply to a question, the chairman pointed out that the Auckland body has a wide range of boys to choose from, and could send a team to suit our requirements with regard to age. The secretary was requested to write to the Hawke’s Bay association with reference to the rules of the East Coast Challenge Bowl, which is being competed for in Napier. It i was arranged that the executive should meet' on Saturday evening with a view to selecting a team to play Hbwke’s Bay. After a lengthy discussion it was derided that senior competition games be •resumed on Saturday next. 1 ' Players who are in possession of representative (maroon) jfurseys, are requested to hand them in not later than Saturday next, All players selected to represent Poverty Bay in Napier are to report to Mr. J. J. Macdonald as soon as the team ;is finalised. The draw for Saturday next,is as follow competition • Mangapapa ▼. ‘Whataupoko, No. 2 ground, referee Mr’ 'Miller; City v. Te Hapara, No. 1 ground, referee Mr. Mohan. The matches will commence ,at 2.45 p m School competition: Mangapapa v. Te Hapara School, No. 1 ground; referee. Mr. Easton; Haiti v. Gisborne Central, No. 2 ground, referee, Mr. Miller. The matches will start at 1.16 p.m.
