TRIP FROM KAIAPOI
INCIDENTS ON THE “BAR” With a cai'go of 100 tons of onions, potatoes, bran, sharps and wheat, the coastal motor vessel Fox ton arrived at Wellington on Sunday from Kaiapoi, tinfirst vessel to arrive from that port for many years. The Fox ton is also the largest vessel to' work Kaiapoi for 20 years. There was quite a crowd at Kaiapoi last Friday night to greet the Foxton. farmers from all over that dis triet being present to see their own pro duce loaded. In crossing the Waimakarin bar to get to Kagipoi that evening the Foxton touched bottom, while one of the crew ot the pilot boat which was endeavoring to cross the bar to put the pilot aboard the Foxton was washed overboard, ,Iml had a narrow, escape from drowning in the heavy setts,
