At a meeting of 30 potato growers in the Willow-ln-idge .district, Christchurch, a protest, was made against the statements being circulated in Australia -re garding New Zeaitmd potatoes, and it was decided to Ask the Minister for Agriculture to take steps to refute such statements. The statements referred to were- that tho powdery scab in Now Zealand potatoes would ruin Australian crops and throw idle for 10 years or more the land n<*\v used ,for potatoes, and that, the prick) of potatoes in Netv Zealand had jumped to £5 a ton.
