New Zealand lemon growers have reason to bless the present very extensive epidemic of colds, chills, and influenza, for the abnormal demand for lemon “toddies” has almost swept foreign lemons off the market., states the Christchurch Sun, and the Domin-ion-grown product is now practically the only source of supply. With New Zealand lemons fetching 30s a case at auction, and I'd endi retail, the Dominion grower is probably tiririJy convinced that the depression is a thing of flie past. lie is fortunate that; the prevalence of colds and chills has developed between the importing seasons. In other years there would be the ■ Australian supply .to help the market, but an embargo has cut off that source.
