The death occurred in Wellington of Mr. Kenneth Andrews, a very promising young Rugby footballer connected with tho Athletic Football Club. The deceased, who had been a member of the senior B team, and who occasionally had played for the first fifteen, was held in high esteem in the club.

The death is reported from Masterton of Mrs. H. 0. Toogood, in her seventy-fifth year. She had been a resident of the Wairarapa for 4.1 years. During the war she took a prominent part in the district’s efforts on behalf of fhe men on active service.

New Zealand lemon growers have reason to bless the present very extensive epidemic of colds, chills, and influenza, for the abnormal demand for lemon “toddies” has almost swept foreign lemons off the market., states the Christchurch Sun, and the Domin-ion-grown product is now practically the only source of supply. With New Zealand lemons fetching 30s a case at auction, and I'd endi retail, the Dominion grower is probably tiririJy convinced that the depression is a thing of flie past. lie is fortunate that; the prevalence of colds and chills has developed between the importing seasons. In other years there would be the ■ Australian supply .to help the market, but an embargo has cut off that source.
