MARKETING BOARD
FATE HANGS IN BALANCE LONDON, April ID. It is still uncertain whether the life of the Empire Marketing Board will be prolonged, although the committee appointed to dear up the loose, ends left over from Ottawa has now prepared its report, which will not be puli lisheil for at least six weeks. This report will be submitted to llio Dominion Governments and published simultaneously 'throughout the Empire. It advises, according to state inputs in well-informed quarters, against the continuance of Die hoard, although nobody can say whether the recommendation will meet with Ministerial approval. There is a large section of opinion that rho board lias been" the most practical essay in Imperial co-operation ever seen, and it; is expected that oversea producers may have a lot to say concerning its ultimate fate, now trembling in the balance. The board has spent vast sums on effective publicity and research, but whether it, survives or not little money will be available for this purpose in the immediate future. —Sydney Morning Herald.
