HOUSE DESTROYED

OCCUPANTS ALL ABSENT (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. A seven or cight-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr. Matthew (Mark. Winters road, Allentown, was destroyed by fire at 3 o’clock this morning from an unknown cause. The occupants left yesterday morn iug on a holiday visit to Christchurch, and a. son. left the house tit noon, and, so far as is kown, did not return. When discovered, the five was right through the building, which was beyond the fire brigade area. All the outbuildings were destroyed, and none of the contents of tho house were saved. The insurances are not available.
