Of the Port Wellington’s New Zealand’s apples, Coxes made from 11s to 18s fid; Worcesters, 8s fld to 12s 3d; Dunns, Ss fid to 9s 9d; Reinettes, 8s 3d to 9s 3d. BUTTER MARKET No further decline has taken place in tho price of New Zealand butter on the London market since yesterday’s advice ; in fact, the market is described to-day as steadier. Cheese, however, continues to decline, aud is Is per cwt. cheaper than in yesterday’s quotations. Joseph” Nathan and Company report to-day as follows: —“Butter, 66s ; the market is steadier. Cheese, white 375, colored 455; the market is quiet.” Dalgety and Company report that since their last advice butter and clieeso on tho London market are 2s lower. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following advice from London, dated April G:—“Butter, GGs. Cheese, white 37s to 38s, colored 4fis. The market is slow.” MATAWAI STOCK SALE There was a small yarding at the Matawai stock sale yesterday, and little interest was shown. The sheep entry totalled only about 600, with very few cattle. The sheep were disposed of, together with most of the cattle, but a. line of cows was passed in. Lambs sold from 5s 9d to 6s 9d, with breeding ewes going up to 6s, weaner steer calves made 255, and weaner heifer calves, Polled Angios, were sold at 15s. Prior to the sale, an inspection of the yarding was made by tho stock inspector, Mr. J. D. Anderson, who discovered two pens of Hero infested sheep, comprising 70 ewes. Only one owner was concerned.

The New Plymouth Savings Bank board of trustees lias decided to take up £IO,OOO of New Plymouth Borough Council debentures and £15,000 of New Plymouth Harbor Board debentures.

Auckland woolgrowers received more for their clip during the selling season just completed than in either of tho previous two seasons, the total return being £341.887, compared with £310,803 in 1931-32 and £323,806 in 1930-31. A feature of the season in Auckland was the satisfactory clearance, 87 per cent, of tho wool offered, and it is this fact rather than prices which lias made the season more successful. One thousand tons of butter have been manufactured this season by the Bay of Islands Co-operative Dairy Company.

The retail price of household coal in Auckland has been reduced from- 4s 9d to 4s a sack. Kitchen coal is selling at 3s lOd, instead of at 4s 3d as previously.
