RUGBY FOOTBALL
CONTROL OF GROUNDS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union decided tonight to allow a union controlling any match on two unions’ behalf 33 1-3 per cent, of the gate and grandstand takings. An opposing motion by Mr. A. C. Kitto —that the question bo deferred until after the annual meeting—was defeated.
The chairman, Mr. S. S. Dean, who introduced the motion, said the passing of the resolution would enable the Auckland union to negotiate on more favorable terms with iho Mount Eden Park trustees.
Mr. E. £. ITylton opined that the resolution was in the right direction. Doubtless, in the past, unions had sacrificed some of their best playing and paying days.
