WAIMATA DOG TRIAL
SUCCESSFUL MEETING RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED The annual trial meeting of the Wainiata Sheep Dog Trial Club, held on Mr. J. Tombleson’s property at Wnimata on Friday and Saturday, was a success from every standpoint. The weather was excellent and the entries were the best that have ever been received. The standard of work as a whole was high and compared favorably with previous years. The judge was Mr. Q. Williams, and the secretary Mr. R. Tombleson. The following are the results: Long head (54 entries). —G. Spence's Tam. 454 points, 1 ; J. Frazer’s Bob, 43 points. 2: Hyland’s .Jock, 424 points, 3: ,J. (freenstreet’s Don, 42 points, 4. Messrs. Primrose and Leslie’s special' prize for the best pull.—-S. King’s Nell, 15 points, 1. Zig-zag hunt (45 entries). —W. Hall's Major. 40 points, 1 ; G. Spence’s Scott, 39 points. 2 ; W. Hall's Jock, 334 points, 3; E. Robinson’s Jock. 38 points, 4. Straight hunt (47 entries). —G. Spence’s Rough, 39 points, 1; K. Ilaisman's Mack and It. Brosnahati’s Sweet, 38 points, equal, 2; G. rvpenees’s Scott, 374 points, 4.
Cop awards were as follow: Heading.- -G. Spence’s Tam, 45£ points. Champion dog.—\V. Hall’s Major, 111 points. Two-dog cup.- G. Spence’s Tam and ■Scott, 844 points. Mazengarb Memorial Cup.—E. Ilaisman’s Nell and Mack, Oo points. Three-dog cup.—G. Spence’s Tarn, Scott and Rough, 1234 points. Local champion.—W. Hall’s Major, 111 points. Local champion huntaway. —E. Robinson’s Jock, 75 points. Maiden cup.—J. Morisscy, U's ■points.
