By the simple expedient of sending out ’accounts for the price of overdue books, the librarian at the Canterbury Public Library, Mr. L. J. Pell, has been able to reduce the number of such volumes by half. Most of the offending subscribers find their books when they receive the accounts, or they pay lor them.
