BUTTER MARKETING
AUSTRALIAN ATTITUDE RESTRICTIONS OPPOSED MELBOURNE, Feb. 27. The Australian Dairy Produce Export Board lias expressed unanimous opposition to the restriction on shipments of butter and cheese to Britain. The board has decided to notify the Zealand Produce Board'accordingly, pointing out that it would bring about chaotic conditions in the dairying industry and hamper the rehabilitation of economic conditions. Moreover, there is no guarantee that the favorable, seasons now being experienced in. Australia will be maintained. The board has decided to ask its British commissioner to urge the advisability of restricting importations fiom foreign countries to the basis of the yhar 1929-50. The need for closer co-operation with i New Zealand ou the general policy of marketing butter in Britain was. emphasised and discussions on the subject will be continued by two members of the board who will shortly visit the Dominion ' . , a .
