Mr E. W. Flanigan, of the Hastings Post Office, has received notice of his transfer to Tokomaru Bay, for which place he leaves early in the New Yea:. The annual sports of the Ormond District Sports Club which were to have been lield at Ormond to-day, wore postponed on account of the rain until Saturday next. The dance, however, which was planned to take place tonight, will still be held, and free buses will be rim from Gisborne and Pulia, The mpsie will be provided by Stuart Sheet’s Rhythm Hoys. Painfull registered on Air. P. (1 Parker’s gauge, llangaroa, for the year ended December 31 amounted to 43.99 in. over 111 days, this total being considerably in excess of that for 1931. when Mr. Parker recorded 34.81 in. He reported that rain had been experienced at llangaroa for the past two days, in which 52 points had fallen, the amount for the last 24 hours being 36 points. At the Te Karaka Sports Club’s annual sports meeting held yesterday Miss Sheila Munro won a. medal donated by .Miss T. Curtis for the competitor under 12 years gaining the most points in the dancing section. Miss Munro, who competed in seven events, gained four firsts and three seconds. This competitor also bail a large measure of success at the annual sports meeting of the Kaitaratuhi .Sports Club held on Boxing Day. winning a cup presented by Dr. It. M. Gunn for the most points gained in the Sean Trubhais and the Highland Heel, and also a medal presented by Miss Phyllis McGhee for the best, performance in the Irish Jig. She entered for seven events and gained five firsts and two seconds.
