AUSTRALIAN FRUIT
IMPORTATION RESENTED

CARTERTON, this day.
A deputation of Grey town fruitgrowers waited upon the Mayor of Greytown this morning asking that he should communicate with the Minister of Customs relative to the importation of Australian fruit, which practice was described as highly detrimental to New Zealand fruitgrowers. MV. W. W. Kidd, the spokesman, said that if Australian fruit was permitted entry us at present it would put New Zealand growers completely out of the market.
Trie Mayor, Mr. IT. T. Rees, promised to get into immediate communication with the Minister of Customs and the member for the district, Mr. A. ]). McLeod.
