LOCAL BODY LAWS

“WASHING-UP” BILL

(Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day.

The first “washing-up” bill of the session will make its appearance in the House to-day. This is the Local Legislation Bill, which annually provides for a number of matters which are required by local authorities throughout the Dominion. The bill will be sent to the Local Bills Committee.

The Local Bodies Officers Bill, which will probably be introduced in the House to-morrow, contains provisions for the setting up of an examining, board for local body officers and the issue ol certificates to those who (have ’been successful in passing examinations set by the board.
