OBITUARY
MR. DONALD MACDONALD MELBOURNE, Nov. 23. The death has occurred of Mr. Donald MacDonald, a leading Australian journalist and naturalist. For many years lie was attached to the Argus and the Australasian. He was aged 75 years.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Ann J. Neal was held yesterday afternoon, the interment being at the Tnruheru cemetery. The late Mrs. Neal was n resident. of Matawai for many years and was greatly respected by the settlers, who attended the funeral in largo numbers. A short service was held at Mr. T. N. Cochrane’s mortuary by the Rev. W. A. Porter, who also conducted the ceremony at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs. R.. Henson, E. Green, 11. Burgess. J. B. Clark, IT. Bulst and F. Korte.
The death took place op Sunday of one of Napier’s oldest residents in the person of Mrs. Ei/.a Catherine Hannay, wife of Mr. J. Y. Hannay, son., of Napier. The lato Mrs. Hannay landed in Auckland with her parents in 1855, when a girl of three years.
