BROADCASTING

TO-NIGHT’S FEATURES IYA:.Mr. G. B. Bell will speak on “The Royal Observatory and the Nautical Almanac.” The studio concert will feature vocal and instrumental items hv the Mati Trio, selections by the Chamber Orchestra, vocal solos by Jack Gunman (boy soprano), humor by Marian Irving, piano solos by .Lilly Cabouret, and a talk by Mr. ’Samuel .). Gudsell on “Famous Ex-Auckland Athletes.” The dance session will begin at 9.31 p.m. 2YA : A topical talk on “Australia To-day” will be given by Mr. S. \V. M. Stilling, who is the representative in New Zealand for the Australian National Travel Association. The concert programme will consist of recordings and will be entirely Australian. A talk by Dr. Guy H. Scholefield will be broadcast.

3YA: The concert programme win consist of items by the Salon Orchestra, violin solos by Irene Morris, vocal solos by Ernest Rogers (tenor) and R. S. 11. Buchanan (bass), with recordings interspersed. Dance music will begin at 10 p.m. 4YA: A talk on the Forburv Trotting meeting ‘ will be given by Mr. R. McKenzie. The Returned Soldiers’ Choir concert will be broadcast.

At 10.30 p.m. Australian and New Zealand stations will endeavor to rebroadcast the ceremony of the unveiling of a monument to Australian and New Zealand soldiers at Port Said hv the Hon. William Hughes.
