WELLINGTON, this dav._ In moving' the second reading in the House of Representatives yesterday of the Urban Farm Lands Rating Bill, the I|on. A. Hamilton said the present law did not; do justice to small farmers in urban areas. Host boroughs contained land used, for niral purposes add the bill'was designed to give relief where the present system of rating was bearing too heavily on land-owners. 'Mr.' I). G. "Sullivan (Labor. Avon) said the weak point of the bill whs that the concessions secured by holders of rural farm lands would have to be paid for by other people in ‘the borough, and that was why he doubted the wisdom of the legislation af the present time. 'Hr. Sullivan and other Labor members urged that relief Workers should also be given consideration with respect to the payment of rates. The bill waft read a second 1 time.
