King Carol urges the population to meet the train and give Princess Helen a rousing welcome when she arrives for Prince Michael’s birthday on October 25. It is understood that Princess Helen was determined" to secretly return for her son’s birthday, hut, King Carol learnt of her intention, sent a special train, and arranged a public reception. He promises- to treat her with all the courtesies due to her rank. He says he is much distressed by recent statements by Princess Helen in lxmdon, and adds that there is no reason why a small boy should be a hone of ■ contention, between a divorced couple.
