VISITORS TO SHOW MASSEY COLLEGE EXPERTS Cisliome stock owners will bo fortunate next week in having tlio advice of members of Iho staff of Massey College on matters of importance concerning live stock, with particular reference to tlie fleeces. Two members of the stall arrived in Gisborne last night lroin Hastings, where they had been attending the Hawke’s Hay Show, while another is to reach Gisborne on Monday. The visitors include Professor G. S. I'eren. principal of Massey College, who is to paiticipale in the judging of the fleeees front a breeder s viewpoint, and Mr. 11. Dosser, who is to assist the professor in this sectim:. Mr, MclAne-.'n, of the veterinary department, is to arrive on Monday. The fleece section at the Show inis reached an impniiaiiee it lias not at lained in any of the past Shows. There are over 170 entries tins year, while on no occasion in the past were more than 50 received. The main object of the .Massey College' visitors is to impart as much information as possible to growers m an endeavor to encourage breeding on the right, lines, taking into account both the value of the carcase and the wool. The latest developments in research work will he pointed out, and advice given on any matter that might prove a difficulty to growers.

In addition to giving advice to wool growers and stock breeders, the visitors are here to learn as much as possible of the conditions prevailing in the. district They ini end keeping themselves Imsv throughout the whole, of their stay, travelling over as much of the district as possible. Professor I’eren and Mr. Dossor. in company with Mr A C. Morton, ot bedding, paid a visit to the showgrounds this morning, and they showed the greatest interest in the manner in which til., grounds had been prepared. I hev also expressed the desire to help the farmers as much as possible during their short stay. They will he in Gisborne until Friday morning, when they will leave for Palmerston North, ready to participate in the Royal Show, which opens on November L
