DARING ROBBERIES

BANDITRY IN LONDON LARGE JEWELLERY HAUL LONDON, Oct. 19. The growing banditry in Britain, usually associated with young thieves in stolon motor cars, was illustrated by sensationad episodes in mid-Lon-don to-day. Four armed men entered a jewellery shop in Houndsditch, and stole several thousands of pounds worth of jewels, after knocking one assistant senseless with the butt of a revolver, and gagging the manager. The assailants escaped in broad daylight with the streets full of Londoners coming to business. The second outrage was at Euston station this evening, where bandits felled a postman and stole a sack of letters registered for the Irish mail. The assailants escaped in a saloon car.
