RATES FOR SEWERAGE
LIABILITY DISCLAIMED i It was reported by the clerk at the last meeting of the Morrinsvillo Borough Council that the State Advances Department had..declined to accept liability for the payment of the sewerage rate on a property which had reverted to the Crown. The clerk stated that, this was unfair to tho council, which hail been compelled by the Health Department to. extend the sewerage to properties. The rate, on the property concerned was about ‘2ss a year. If the properly wore sold, the new owner would, of course, be liable, lint the Crown disclaimed liability. It was decided that particulars of the case be sent to Mr. F. Lye, M.l’., pointing out the difficulties and asking him to do his best to help the council, and also to send a remit on the subject to the Municipal Association.
