ONE DAY RETURN SERVICE
WAIROA TO GISBORNE
TEMPORARY LICENSE GRANTED
Thu No. 4 District Transport Licensing Authority, sitting at Napier on Thursday, approved two applications from the the Hawke’s Bay Motor Company, limited, for temporary licenses to run a service from Wairoa to Gisborne and return the same day The car will leave Wairoa at 7 a.in. and reach Gisborne at 10 a.m., and will leave Gisborne at 4.30 p.m. and reach Wairoa at 7.30 p.m. This is a temporary arrangement only, pending the hearing of an application from Mr. It. C. Mason, which will take place at Wairoa on October 26.
The temporary licenses will take effect as from Monday, October 17, and will extend over two weeks from that date. There is a condition attached to each license preventing»the licensee from picking up passengers on the inward journey oyer the length between Bartlett’s and Gisborne and setting down passengers over the same length <>u the outward journey from Gisborne. Mrs. Wilcox has a bus service over this route, and, ;n is customary, existing services operating on rime-tables in proximity to one another are protected.
