’ ADDINGTON SALES ALL VALUES DEPRESSED SHARP DROP IN MUTTON (Por Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Heavy entries had the effect of depressing values in both mutton and beef at the Addington market to-day, and the decline in mutton was the sharpest recorded for a long period. ■ .Store sheep.—There was a big yarding, but a dull demand for ewes and lambs. Good lines of hoggets sold ■well. Ewes and lambs (all counted) made from 3s 6d to 9s 7cl; medium owe hoggets 11s 6d to 12s (id; medium wether hoggets to 11s 3d; ordinary wether and in.s. hoggets Ss to 8s 7d; 2-th halfbred wethers (shorn) 7s to 10s; good 4 and 6-th to 13s; merino to 6s sd. 'Spring lambs-t-Therc was a yarding of 510 of good quality and values advanced Is 6d a head in a keen sale. The fop price was 18s lOd. Fat sheep.—-The entry, 5400, constituted an over-supply and there was a general easing in value of Is 6d to 2s a head and many passings. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 17s lOd; prime heavy 15s to 16s; medium weight prime 13s Gd to 14s 9d; ordinary 12s to 13s; light 10s to 11s Gd; extra prime heavy ewes to 16s sd; prime heavy 13s to 15s; prime medium weight 10s 6cl to 12s (id; ordinary 9s to 10s; light 7s 6d to 8s 9d.
Fat .cattle. —An entry of 410 head included 171 head from the North Island and over 100 head from south of Rakaia. The quality generally was excellent. The market was easier •■fir all classes by 15s to £1 a head. .Bbst beef made 25s per :1001b.*; good prime 21s to 245; heavy 18s Od to 21s; secondary 15s to 18s; inferior to 14s. Extra prime heavy steers made to £ll 7s Od; 'prime heavy £8 to £10; prime .medium weight £6 10s to £8; ordinary quality £4 15s to £6; light to £4 10s; extra prime heifers to £!) 7s (id; prime £5 10s to £7 15s; medium £4 5s to £5 ss; light to £4; extra prime cows to £7 12s Gd; prime £5; extra prime cows to £8 12s Gd; prime £5 to £7; medium £3 10s to £4 15s; light £2 10s to £3 ,10s.
Fat pigs.—There was a smaller entry. Pork was in a little better demand, but bacon was unchanged, and ■choppers were easier. Choppers made 35s to £3;' baeoners 45s 6d to 55s 6d; heavy £3 to £3 14s 6d—average price per lb. 4fd to '5Jd; porkers 27s 6d to 32s 6d; heavy 34s 6d to 38s 6d—average price per lb. 4fd to s}d.
