INFURIATED BULLOCK
PURSUIT OF A CYCLIST A small building was overturned and partially wrecked and a man had a narrow escape from serious injury, when' an infuriated bullock broke away from a herd near the Featherston trucking yards on Friday. With other animals, the bullock was being driven to the trucking .yards to be placet! on a stock train, when it suddenly broke loose and began to paw the ground and behave generally in a menacing manner. Suddenly the bullock noticed a cyclist who was proceeding along the road, and with an angry bellow gave chase. The cyclist spurted for a while, but, realising that the bullock was gradually gaining on him, ho abandoned his bicycle and rushed to a near by house, where lie sought sanctuary in a small outbuilding. The bullock followed and, finding the door shut in his face, attacked the building. It was not very solidly built, and soon toppled over under the fury of tlio attack. With horns and hoofs, the angry animal commenced to push the building over the ground, and for a time the life of the man appeared to be in danger. However, the prompt arrival of a stockman prevented a fatality.
