“NO SIGNIFICANCE”
FRANCO-BRITISH PARLEYS TRADE TREATY SUGGESTED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received August 30, 11 a.m.) PARIS, Aug. 29. There is much speculation regarding a meeting of M. Herriot, M. Chautemps, Minister of the Interior, and M. Meyer, Minister of Mercantile Marine, with Sir Herbert Samuel, at Jersey. Ostensibly, M. Herriot is on a pleasure trip, but there is an impression that Ministers will take the opportunity to discuss with Sir Herbert Samuel the prospects of a new Franco-British trade treaty. Sir Herbert Samuel says the meeting has no political significance.
