A collision occurred between a motor cycle ridden by John Stewart Coles and a delivery van in Queen street cast, Levin, on Saturday. Both vehicles were, damaged and tho motorcyclist received severe head injuries and a lacerated leg.
“An enterprising man has asked us to sanction the erection of a wireless loud-speaker on top of a building in town for business purposes,” arinoiuU*cd Cr. H. A. Huggins, chairman of the by-law committee at. the meeting of the Wellington City Council. “Whilst I must say that I admire his enterprise, I’m afraid it cannot bq done. If wo granted such a privilege to one man, we would have them all along the quay.” The committee’s clause rejecting the proposal was carried without question.
