. A sportsman in the Lawrence district last week shot a pukeko in which lie found two pieces of gold, each about tho size of a large pin-head.—Otago Times. One taxi service in Dunedin is keeping abreast of the times in providing its passengers with radio entertainment. A powerful wireless set lias been installed in one of its ears. On Saturday evening a motor car, driven by Air. J. Devereaux, of To Wbaiti, met with an accident when near the entrance to the golf course at Whakarewavewa. The car skidded and struck a bank mi the side of the road, turning a complete somersault. Mr. Devereaux and a passenger were slightly injured, and the car was damaged.
