WATER SPEED RECORD
NEW BRITISH ATTEMPT MISS ENGLAND HI READY (British Official Wireless.) Rrc. 10 a.m, RUGBY, May 10.' Miss England ;111, the motor boat in which Air Kaye Don hopes Jo establish a now world’s water speed record, was launched to-day at the Thames yards of Thorneycrofts, 'the engineers. She has two Schneider Trophy type Rolls-Royce engines which develop a nominal horse power of 4000, but actually considerably more, and has twin propellers, and rudders fore and aft. She is almost the same size as her famous predecessor—3sft. long and PJfi. broad.
The Miss England was pilt aboard a ship which sails to-day for Italy,where .she will compete for the D ’Annunzio Trophy on Lake Gaida, and will attempt to create a fresh record in the autumn. She will race in the United States in the summer.
