A SIX-HOUR PLAY

A FRENCH EXPERIMENT

PARIS, Feb. 12,

French theatrical producers have not ■ hitherto shown any inclination to follow in the footsteps of the Englisn ■theatre in the matter of experiments with plays of great length. Now it is announced that M. Paul Abram, the director of tho Odeon—the second State theatre, has decided to launch out in this direction with a piece about Napoleon written by M. Saint-Georges de Bourelier. The play is to start at 6 p.m. and continue until midnight. There will be a long interval at S o’clock, during which members of the audience will be able to snatch a hasty dinner. Originally the author wished to make his play last for three evenings. But it was decided that not many Parisians would be able to find time to follow such a j cycle.
