HAWKE’S BAY’S WIN HOME TEAM OUT FOR 97 The junior representative cricket match between Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay was completed by the luncheon adjournment to-day, and resulted in an easy win for the visiting team by eight wickets. Poverty Bay. who had seven wickets down for 90 when stumps were drawn on Saturday, resumed this morning, and added only seven runs to their score for the remaining three wickets, leaving the visitors the task of making 21 to win. This they did for the loss of two wickets, Hogg] and O’Brien being dismissed for two and a “duck” respectively, and R. Barlow making 19 (not out). Against Poverty Bay in the second innings Hawthorne took seven wickets for 24 runs in 13.5 overs, five of which were maidens, while for Poverty Bay in the visitors’ second innings L.
