Kennedy’s in the first quarter of a mile, but later Kennedy settled down, hnd from that point onward the issue was settled. From Roebuck road onward down the river, Kennedy grad-! ually drew ahead, his opponent'-Hi frequent sprints serving only to checkthe extension of the-'lead for the tune being. Over the last quarter of a mile there whs a gap of <dear between the boats, and at the finish Kennedy won by four lengths.
