SIMON HAILS MOTHER

LONDON, Oct. 19. A novel and graceful method of conveying greetings to Ins mother on her righty-lijth birthday anniversary _ was adopted by Sir John'Simon, tho eminent Liberal, yesterday. Sir John was making an address on the radio, and knew his mother was eagerly listening. In the course of his speech he said • “The recovery of British credit depends on all of us—from the young man entering upon life and using the franchise for the first time to an old lady celebrating her eighty-fifth birthday as she sits in her chair by the fire.”
