BRADFORD’S BUSY TIME BRADFORD, October 13. For the first time for 10 years the majority of the biggest wool textile concerns in the West Riding are running normally. With the exchange working in favor of both the export and home sections of the wool textile industry, orders from both foreign and home buyers are flocking in, and within the space of ten days the- entire industry has jumped from a three-day working week to full time.

In many cases factories are being run on overtime also, and hundreds of unemployed operatives have resumed work,'the prospects being that the unemployment figures in Bradford and district will be further decreased in the near future.

Machinery is working to full capacity in most mills, and the questions of auditions to plant and the extension of premises has already arisen. The biggest -chwnand is coming from (he Far East, Ohjna particularly, and firms report that they have booked orders which will carry them into the new year. Prices are still advancing, and from the lowest point iii September fine merino tops have risen fivopence per pound. This increase is also being felt in the manufacturing end of the industry.
