Whakapapa easily held his own to win by a length and a-half. The judge was unable to separate Princess Bede and Lady Musk, which came fast in the straight. Moonfleet was fourth. Time, 1.29.

Brolyxo led round the bend into the straight from Tea Trader and Foreign Money, and they finished in this order, the favorite having an advantage of half a length when the post was reached.
