Miss L. Tietjen, Auckland, is the guest- of Mr. and Mrs. C. Tietjen, Bushmere. ilr. and Mrs Humphrey Bayly, jun., “Orieklewood,” Wairoa, paid a brief visit to Gisborne to-day to attend the Show. Coleman, Tokomaru Bay, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Coleman, Hinaki street. Misis Godwin and Hie Misses Blathwavt (2), spent the week-end in Gisborne at the Gisborne Hotel. Dr. and Sirs. Jurdinc, Wairoa, are the guests of Mrs. G. Stock, Domett street. Mrs. F. Ivahlenberg, who lias been visiting friends in Palmerston North and Hawke’s Bay, returned to Gisborne during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Loisel, Mr. and Mrs. E. Loisel, and Mr. Norman Loisel, Tolaga Bay, are staying in Gisborne. Mr. H. M. B. deLautour, Wairoa. is the guest of Mr. und Mrs. Humphrey Bayly, sen., Kaiti. Mrs. Bruce, Auckland, who has been visiting Hawke’s Bay, is arriving in Gisborne at the -end of the week to visit her daughter, Mrs. 11. Goulding Rice. Mrs. L. T. Burnard and Mrs. E. Ewart Brown, who have been visiting Wanganui, will visit Waipawa for a brief period on their roturn journey to Gisborne this week. Miss Nancy Mcßae, Wairoa, is the guest of Mrs. Wilton L. Irwin, Kaiti. Mr. and Mrs. P. Barker. Mr. and Mrs. M. Brownlie, Mr. and Mrs. F. Humphreys, and their respective families, and Miss Mappin. Auckland, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. I). deLautour, Wniroa, visited Gisborne yesterday to atte&d the Show. Mrs. J. It. Murphy, Mohaka, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Bennett, Childers road. Mrs L. Brinkman, Sydney, is paying a short visit to her sister, Mrs Bridgman, Clifford street. Mrs. A. MeKillop and .Misses 1). Fleetwood and B. Holmes, Christchurch, who have been visiting Gisborne, left by motor yesterday on their return journey. Miss Fleetwood is making a short stay in Napier before continuing her journey to the South Island, but her two companions will proceed to Christchurch direct. Afternoon Tea Party Mrs. C. Tietjen gavo a very enjoyable afternoon party on Friday for her guest, Miss L. Tietjen, of Auckland, at her residence “Buslimerc.” The guests spent a happy interval walking around the pretty garden, which was very much admired with its buds of gay spring flowers and its flowering shrubs in - full bloom; some very beautiful beds of einnerarius attracted a great deal of attention with their pretty blooms in various colors, .making a striking show. Mrs. Tietjen received her guests in a becoming frock of floral georgette in shades of blue, and Miss Tietjen chose a smart jumper suit in woven silk in blue tonjngs. A dainty tea was served in the drawing-room, which was very prettily arranged with bowls of lovely roses and bright liued Iceland poppies. Among the guests were Mesdames Bloomfield, 11. E. Bright, Tietjen, sen., H.-'D, , Langel.D. P. Cameron, IT. Carr, W. \V. Smith, and Miss M, Cameron.
