The Rotary Club at to-day's luncheon gave a hearty welcome with the customary musical honors, to .Rotarian Canon Packe. Whjtianga, saw an exciting battle between a huge sawfish and two humpbacked, whales. lie declared the saw was fully ,12ft. long. Soon after the attack, the, wlndes disappeared and he did not sec them again taflU they showed up two or .tllree miles away. He was within 200. yards of the contest and saw the sawfish thrashing the water.
