INCREASED BUSINESS
BRITISH WOOL INDUSTRY LONDON, October 22. The Daily Telegraph says inquiries show that the general increase in foreign business in tho woollen industry and the relative cheapness of goods are due to the departure from the gold standard. A considerable proportion of the buyers are from the United States, who are placing large orders for manufactured articles.
SYDNEY MARKET FIRM SYDNEY, Oct. 27. At the wool sales the market reflected the host features of tho week. Prices were very firm for all descriptions, including comebacks and crossbreds, and satisfactory clearances were effected. Greasy merino made 15d. A total of 10,848 bales was offered, of which 10,073 were sold, arid also 565 privately. i
