NEGRO RUNS AMOK
FOUR PERSONS KILLED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) NEW YORK, Oct. 21. Four persons lay dead within an hour when, at Durham (North Carolina), Everett McLean, a negro, suddenly became insane and began shooting. McLean was under arrest by a sheriff, who was bringing him and members of his family into tho city in a motor car, when McLean drew a revolver and shot the sheriff dead. The unguided car was wrecked against a tree, McLean’s sister being killed. McLean crawled out and shot his wife, and then suicided a few minutes later.
