T. E. Toneycliffe suggested that, all local bodies whose- traffic! used the road should be made to. contribute towards the cost. Air. F. R. Ball, who was in the chair, suggested again writing to’ the Highways Board asking it to reach a conclusion of the dispute by offering, to declare the Kanakanaia road a secondary highway. The ' chairman’s suggestion was adopted.
