CYCLE ROAD RACE
HANDICAPS FOR THURSDAY PROFESSIONAL CLUB’S EVENT Handicaps for to-morrow’s cycles road nice over the King’s road circuit, sponsored by the Poverty Hay Professional Athletic and Cycling Club, have, been declared by Mr. It. Wells, Omni. ; Herbert Davis, bniin. 20sce.; E. Gray, smin. sCsec.; \V. Denson, 6mm. ; !S. McColl, 6mm.; C. Davis, 6min., fOsec. ; Dixon, 6min, 2Usec. ; C. O Connell, 7rnin. Competitors are to lie on their marks at 2 p.m. The club is facing a busy period before, tlie close of the road racing season, a race having to lie added to the programme to deal with the. Skeats and White Cup, recently presented to the. club. The course for this race is to be approximately 16 miles, and the event is set down for next wqek in addition to this interesting competition, there is to tie a series of three races over varying distances for the T. Lawless Cup, and riders! will he kept- in good training up to Hie date of the track season’s opening. The club officials are intending to cater for the riders and public with a series of cash prop amines during the track season, good support having been promised by local sportsmen whose interest lias been revived by the success of the current road-racing programme.
