TWO SHOTS FIRED
ATTACK ON GOVERNOR OUTRAGE IN INDIA CALCUTTA, July 22. An attempt io assassinate Sir Ernest Dotson, acting-Governor of Bombay, who is relieving Sir Frederick Sykes, who is on s*.:k leave, was made at Powtia this morning. He was inspecting Ferguson College, when a student tired two shots from a revolver, but he, escaped unhurt. One bullet struck the aeting-Governor’s coat and was deflected from his heart by a metal button. The acting-Governor personally overpowered his assailant.
