N.Z. FRUIT BOXES
LARGE ORDERS PLACED CREATING EMPLOYMENT (Per Prosa Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Now Zealand Fruitgrower’s Federation has placed an order for 650,000 fruit-boxes for Nelson of pinus insignis sides and ends and white pine tops and bottoms, and 150.000 for the Ilastn gs district, besides c-ther orders. It is pointed out by the manager, Mr H. Napier, that the local manufacturer will be given a chance, despite the fact that imported cases are cheaper, purely io case unemployment. Commenting on the Hon. R. A. do la Perrclle’s statement that the drop in the timber output is due to the failure of fruitgrowers to place orders for boxes in New Zealand. Mr. Napier says the Minister’s information is out of date.
