POLICY NOT YET DECIDED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Replying to a .question in the House vesterdav asked by Mr V. Ward (United. Invercargill), the Hon. H. Almorc said that in view of the financial stringency it was necessary to restrict to some extent the employment of relieving teachers, and until the financial position improved it- would not he possible to estimate as accurately as possible the number of teachers it was necessary to train to make good the staff wastage in the service in five years. Later there would he a shortage of teachers to (ill the vacancies of 1936 if the number of probationers were reduced too much in 19*‘>2.
