STORM OF PROTEST

RUSSIAN TIMBER SHIPMENT AT SYDNEY* SYDNEY, Juno IS. A storm of protest has arisen in regard to the arrival at Sydney from a Russian port of a huge shipment of timber, a portion of which was sold before its arrival. The Timber Merchants ’ Association has appealed to the Government to prevent the dumping of Soviet slaveproduced timber, on the ground that locally-milled timber is unable to compete therewith. Th. Federal authorities are' now making inquiries.
