OBITUARY

MR. WILLIAM WRIGHT, M.P.

(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Beceived April 10, 2 p.m.) LONDON. April 9. The death has occurred of Mr. William Wright, a Labor member of the House of Commons.

The late Mr. William Wright was 59 years of age. At the age of 12 he commenced work io a mine, and later became a farm laborer. Hi l , had been connected with the co-operative and Socialist movement in Scotland for many years. He was first ejected to Parliament for Rntherglen in 1922, lie sat- continuously since then. The Labor nwioritv for the seat in 1923 was 5369,'but'the following year it fell to 1089, but increased again in 1929 to 5289 in a four-cornered contest.
