When the roads in the Murchison find ltullor districts were destroyed Ivy tin' earthquake two years ago, the (lovenrment decided that; tin 1 cost of renewal should be paid out of the South Island main highways fund, writes a Dunedin correspondent. .So far no announcement has been made as to whether or not the cost; of road renewals in Hawke's Day is to be met by the North Island fund. Motorists in the south are suspicious of a “raid" being made on their funds. The South Island Motor Union is alive to the situation and will discuss the question.
