The monthly meeting of the Nuhaka Women’s institute was held on Wednesday, when there was a fair attendance. In the absence of Sister May. Mrs. M. 1!. Shaw presided. An interesting demonstration of crayon drawing on silk was given liv Mrs. (1. B. Steele, while Miss MontoatV demonstrated silk raffia posies. The following new members were proposed : Mrs. Bowie, Misses D. and S. Richardson, E. I'luck. N. Shaw, and B. Steed. A dainty afternoon lea. was provided bv the hostesses, Mesdames Karnes and D dev. Those present were Mesdames Shaw. Karnes, Duley, Kirk, Brewster, Stee’e, Young, Richardson, Gleuny. Sturm. M’Konzie. \rthur. Watted, and Misses Scott. Mel■■ose, Shaw, Richardson, Montealh, and sister Rennet.

Wellington, are spending a holiday with the latter’s parents, Mr. ami Mrs. .). Austin, Voter o .—Mr. N. Block, who met with in accident to his hand, while repairing his inrrv. is making satisfactory progress and is home from hospital.
