COLORFUL RECEPTION THOUSANDS CROWD STREETS OTTAWA, April 8. The city received- the lOarl and Countess of lie-,,-borough with colorful ceremonies, touched with details of ancient Royal splendor. Military guard.- of honor made a striking background at the decorated railway station, where foreign and domestic dignitaries greeted Ihe vice-regal party. Thousands of people jammed the streets in line weather ami warmly cheered the new Govcrnor-Otcnoral. The Mayor, Mr, Allen, delivered a speech of welcome in which he comjdiinenled the Karl of Bessborough on his family traditions. Addressing the Countess, the Mayor said: The citizens of Ottawa are already charmed and'captivated by the gracious reputation which has preceded Your Kxeelleney.''
Viscount Duncnnuon immediately took the wheel of one of the official motor cars and drove off into the neighboring countryside for a tour of inspection.
