WEDDING

SOUTH—STEFFENS A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. David's Church, Kaiti, on Easter Monday morning, when .lane Louise Helena, second daughter of Mr. 11. 11. F. Stofl'ens, Wa'nnate, was married to Lawrence Rapabia, eldest son of Mr. and .Mrs. M. South, Nuhaka, llawke's Day. Friends of the bride had decorated the church for the occasion with Easter flowers and beautiful feathery greenery, and the Rev. C. IL Lowden performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered on the arm of her father to the strains of the "Wedding March," played by the 1-ridegrooiii's father, made a picturesque figure in her toe-length frock of deej) cream georgette with niched bodice and wide-frilled skirt relieved with touches of orange blossom. Her trailing veil of embroidered tulle was caught to her head by a coronet of orange blossom buds, and she carried a beautiful arm sheaf of bclladoiia lilies, cream dahlias and niaidenhan fern. , r . , The bridesmaids were Miss Murio! Smith, chief, and Miss Joyce South, sisters of the bridegroom. They both wore charming frocks of forget-me-not blue organdie, with tucked corsage and skirts nearly reaching to the ground, with accordion-pleated frills and tucks, and primrose satin shoes and gloves. Their hats were also primrose Swiss straws caught under the brim with tiny bandeaux of forget-me-nots and primrose ribbons lined with blue fell down the back. They wore blue necklaces, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried quaint loose posies of blue and lemon flowers with maidenhair Mr. Reg. Powell, of Mamma ru. acted as best /nan, and Mr. Frank Melding, Nuhaka, as groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at Le (Land, where relations and intimate friends were entertained. The usual toasts were honored. Mrs. M. South, mother of the bridegroom, wore a beautiful frock of crepe do chine with hat to tone. Her bouquet was of brown and gold dahlias, with autumn foliage.

The happy couple left by private car for u tour 'through the North Island. I'he bride wore a green frock and biscuit-colored coat of celanese silk, prettily flared, with hat and shoes to tone.
